Qianlan Wu 7th August 2024

Agnes, we were going to have a teams catch-up. I wanted to tell you that summer had been chaotic as usual, and I was trying to muddle through different deadlines. I was, as usual, going to feel much relieved by your fair and funny advice. I was pretty sure about that, but... Life is not fair, but this is wrong in so many ways. You took me under your wing since I joined the school. You introduced me to the morning group coffee routine on the C floor. You were tortured by my research presentation but returned with frank and encouraging comments, especially the point that I was not good at hitting the time requirement. And that big grin on your face, when I told you I forgot to cost an item in my application … I do not like writing to you in the past tense, Agnes. But I guess we would have to have a delayed catch-up. In the meantime, rest my friend, a great human being and a much-loved colleague.
