missing a good friend, a great human rights advocate, who played a major role improving human rights in Iran

I am deeply saddened by this news. Agnes was so young, taken from us far too
early. She was not only an incredibly organized and dedicated person, as one
might expect from a German, but she also had a heart of gold. We had the
privilege of working together on one of the most successful human rights
projects ever conducted between a university and an NGO, focusing on improving
the situation in Iran.
Together, we organized more than 16 study tours and courses for lawyers, judges, and
civil society activists from Iran to the UK and Malaysia. The project had a
tremendous impact. While much work remains to be done, we made progress step by
step, and Agnes was the driving force behind it all. She took charge of
everything—funding, proposals, administration, logistics, and coordination with
professors—and executed it flawlessly.
Her loss is immeasurable. When I was jailed for my human rights work, and the court
demanded documentation to prove that the project was an academic endeavor
rather than a malicious act, she came to my rescue. I had lost all my emails
and documents due to the arrest, but Agnes quickly gathered the necessary
information to prove my innocence. Although courts in certain places can be
indifferent to evidence, the university's reputation played a critical role,
and Agnes saved my life. I will forever be in her debt. we travelled a lot to many places in UK and Malaysia as part of this project, and I always admire her dedication and hard work and understanding.
Her absence leaves a void in all of us. We will miss you dearly, Agnes. Rest in
peace.
your fiend,
Amir
