I am really struggling with the words to express my shock and deep sadness that the world has lost Agnes Flues, she was such a brilliant person, one of the absolute best: super dedicated to all the various causes she signed up for, very kind and exceptionally talented yet incredibly humble, and possessing that fantastic Germanic/Italian combination of having a very dry wit and being incredible, gleeful fun. Having known her since her HRLC days, I remember that there was absolutely never any bullsh*t from Agnes, you always knew where you stood, she was frank and clear and astute, but never ever rude or unkind. Sending so much love to Manuel and her friends, family, colleagues, fellow union activists and everyone who knew and loved Agnes. I know we will all do our best to live up to the example that you set us. The world has lost you way too soon my dear, but I hope that you get to meet Leonard Cohen in heaven (probably not where you would aim to go - but if anyone is going there, it is you). Buona notte, bella
