Agnes, you had extraordinary abilities, in all areas of your life. So many things I admired about you, your intellect, wit, capacity for joy, commitment, patience, work ethic, pragmatism … but to just pick one - very simply, your capacity to be present, without drama but fully present and engaged in every situation I saw you in. That could be at a party, in a pub, in a meeting, on the picket line, at a rally … but most of all with individuals, your ability to make every individual feel fully heard, understood and respected. You did this quietly, without fanfare, and could do it in large gatherings, smaller meetings, and in one to ones. I know you wouldn't recognise that you were extraordinary, brushing compliments aside, but you were. For those of us who were lucky enough to work or play or just "be" with you, the world was a greater place with you in it, and our world is now smaller without you.
